is the opposite facet of industrialization

Limited series production.
Adding value to industrialized products through manufacturing processes and high quality materials.
This is a personal question concerning the value of industrial design and mass-production in relation to luxury design and limited edition manufacture.
The industry in China is known for its mass-production advantages, which make it hard to compete with their extremely low prices. The highly industrialized processes lower the costs of the products, so I ask myself if it’s possible to do the opposite.
By making a small production of an industrial mass-produced object with dif- ferent material qualities, its value may be raised. Casted from a Taiwanese dispos- able PET bowl, a limited series of bowls were slightly modified to achieve a change of the product’s value.
